The batch 2017 of College of Physiotherapy at Christian Medical College & Hospital, Ludhiana secured excellent academic in the university examination securing 100% result.

 The result of Bachelors in Physiotherapy 4th year at Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot was declared on 20.12.2021.The batch 2017 of College of Physiotherapy at Christian Medical College & Hospital, Ludhiana secured excellent academic in the university examination securing 100% result.

Ms. Aanchal Goyal got distinctions in the subject of Physiotherapy in surgical condition & Ethics, Administration and Rehab , Ms. Gehna Nandwani got distinction in the subject of Physiotherapy Ethics, Administration & Rehab and Ms. Anmol Bhatia got distinction in the subject of Physiotherapy Ethics, Administration & Rehab and Physiotherapy In Neurological Condition.

Muskan RishiRaj, Muskaan katyal  & Vishakha Aggarwal  got distinction in the subject of Physiotherapy in Surgical Condition in College of Physiotherapy. All the students (batch 2017) secured 1st division.

 

Dr. William Bhatti, congratulated the students for bringing laurels to the College and thanked the faculty for nurturing the students. Speaking on the occasion, Sandeep Singh Saini, Principal, College of Physiotherapy, CMC & Hospital, Ludhiana congratulated students and members of faculty for the achievement. He also explained the importance of Physiotherapy in daily life. He also told us that the department was first started in early 60s and also pioneer in the field of Physiotherapy now a days the department has state of art infrastructure and college was first started in 2006.

New PSA Oxygen Plant Inaugurated at Christian Medical College & Hospital Ludhiana.

 

Shri O P Soni, Deputy Chief Minister, inaugurated the New PSA Oxygen Plant in Christian Medical College & Hospital Ludhiana today.

The Project has been driven by the untiring efforts of Shri. Rahul Ahuja, Former President, CII and Shri. Ashpreet Sahni, Chairman, CII, Ludhiana Zone.

The event was hosted jointly by Christian Medical College & Hospital Ludhiana and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in the Guy N. Constable Auditorium at CMC & Hospital, Ludhiana. Shri. O. P. Soni, Deputy CM graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

He lauded the efforts of CMC & Hospital, Ludhiana in serving the people of Punjab and the neighbouring states for nearly 127 years. He highlighted the role of CMC in the field of Medical education & health care among the masses.

Shri. O. P. Soni appreciated CII for their timely support to medical fraternity by setting up this oxygen plant which is the need of the hour considering the present Covid pandemic.

The Guest of Hounour, Shri Bharat Bhushan Ashu recognized the missionary spirit of the doctors and staff of CMC & Hospital, Ludhiana. He appreciated the efforts of the CII and made a special mention of the PSA Oxygen generator project which has been spearheaded by Mr. Rahul Ahuja & Mr. Ashpreet Sahni.

The other esteemed guests included Sh. Surinder Dawar, MLA- Central Ldh and Sh. Sanjay Talwar, MLA East LDH Sh. G P S Bhullar, Commissioner of Police, Sh. Varinder Sharma, Deputy Commissioner, Dr. S. P Singh, Civil Surgeon, Sh. Amandeep Mittal, Director, International Human Rights Commission, Sh. Ashwani Kapoor, IPS, SSP Batala, Sh. Rahul Ahuja, Former President, CII Punjab State Council, Sh. Ashpreet Sahni, Chairman CII Ldh. Zone, Sh. Neeraj Satija, Former Chairman CII Punjab State Council, Sh. Amit Thapar, Vice Chairman CII, Punjab also graced the occasion.

Mr. Amit Thapar Vice Chairman CII, Punjab State Council, acknowledged the contribution of CMC & Hospital, Ludhiana in the field of education & healthcare. He looked forward to a very fruitful association with CMC L in the future. Dr. William Bhatti expressed his deep gratitude to CII for their constant support over the last several years. He mentioned that the New Pectherm Pressure Swing Adsorption Oxygen Generator was the need of the hour considering the possibility of the third Covid wave. This oxygen plant generates 500 L / Min and has been connected to the ICU and Covid Wards in CMCL.

Doctors trained in NMC’s programs in CMC

Ludhiana(hs kitty)  National Medical Commission (NMC)’s 12^th   ‘Advance Course in Medical Education (ACME)’ course is being conducted in CMC onsite after the course going online for last 2 sessions due to pandemic. Fifty six faculty of various medical colleges of India from as far as West Bengal, Assam, Bihar and Jammu & Kashmir attended the poster session today. The faculty presented 26 research posters in research in medical education especially related to new competency based curriculum in MBBS. Dr. William Bhatti, Director, CMC inaugurated the program and appreciated the efforts of all faculty of department of medical education, CMC for contributing to the growth of the medical education. Dr. Bhatti added that CMC is always at forefront to train medical teachers of various medical college to improve the overall health and safety of patients. Dr. Jeyaraj 

D. Pandian, Principal, CMC, welcome the participants and highlighted the type of research being done in medical education in various colleges in one year long ACME course and its impact in improving medical education. Dr. Dinesh Badyal, NMC Task force member and Convener of the NMC, Nodal center informed that the 12^th Advance course required is being conducted onsite as it is important part of training 30% faculty of medical colleges in higher educational programs. He added that the total duration of the course is one year and poster session is being conducted using thematic methodology which is a unique methodology. Dr. Monika Sharma, Co-convener of Nodal Centre and Incharge ACME course informed that advance course also trains doctors in attitude, ethics and communication aspects. She added that in this course medical doctors are trained to adopt a student centered approach in teaching the MBBS students. Nodal centre is training facility in various components of new competency based curriculum of MBBS like new assessment methods, internal assessment, leadership, e-learning, curriculum planning & implementation, new teaching-learning methods and educational research. The training is in alignment for new curriculum for MBBS in India. He added that CMC is one of the ten Nodal centers for faculty development in India.The resource faculty of program included  Dr. Badyal, Dr. Monika, Dr. Pamela Alice K., Dr. Aroma Oberoi, Dr. Roma Issac, Dr. Anjali Jain, Dr. Maria Thomas, Dr. Kavita Mandrelle, Dr. Christina George, Dr. Clarence, Dr. Gagandeep Kwatra, Dr. Ajay Kumar and Dr Rinchu Loomba.

International Childhood Cancer Awareness month

Poster competition on International Childhood Cancer Awareness month

Department of Paediatric surgery organized poster competition on childhood cancer awareness with department of Paediatric nursing on 15^th September 2021. 46 nursing student made posters about childhood cancer awareness.  Dr. William Bhatti, Director, Professor and head, Dept. of Paediatric surgery addressed the gathering about common Paediatric cancers and need for awareness in community .He also emphasized on importance of early detection and treatment. He mentioned during his speech about the comphrensive care given by department of Paediatric Surgery from last 50 years.  Dr. Gurmeet Chaudhry, Head of Department and Professor, Dept. of Paediatric Medicine told that September is celebrated as international childhood cancer month. She also told that white spot in eye, lump in abdomen , unexplained fever, weight loss,  fatigue, easy bruising and bleeding are common signs of cancer in childhood. Unlike adult 80% childhood cancers are completely treatable if detected early. Dr. Parvez David Haque, HOD, Dept. of General surgery also attended the event and took the lead in the Lamp Lighting Ceremony. Dr. Reena Jairus, Principal, 

 College of nursing and Prof Mrs. Premlata, Head of Childcare Nursing as well as Mrs Jatinder Kaur from paediatric nursing,  Dr. Vishal Michael  and Dr. Tanvi Goel  from Department of Paediatric surgery also spoke at the event about the theme: Together we fight, We will be Better as also the importance of nursing in childhood cancers.
