The Department of General Surgery, Christian Medical College,
Ludhiana conducted a 1 day CME on “Current
Trends in Surgery”
Dr. William Bhatti, Director, CMC while inaugurating the
event, highlighted the role of Department of General Surgery, CMC & Hospital,
Ludhiana in training residents based on protocols and increasing competency. Dr.
Jeyaraj D. Pandian, Principal, CMC, welcomed the delegates. He added that this academic
feast will integrate faculty of various medical colleges and top hospitals. Dr.
Anil Luther, the Head of Surgery department, welcomed the chief guest Dr.
Jagadeesan, president of IMSA and impressed on the delegates the achievements
of the surgery department in CMC.
Dr. Jagadeesan, the chief guest of the CME and the
Founder President, listed the achievements of the IMSA and also appreciated the
success of the CME.
Dr. Karamvir Goyal,
Member, Punjab Medical Council informed that 2 credit hours are awarded by the Council.
The CME is supported by Punjab Medical Council
and International Medical Sciences Academy (IMSA). Dr Amit Mahajan, Organizing Secretary
and Professor of Surgery, gave the vote of thanks. The CME included sessions on
surgical techniques, recent advancements in peri-operative and post-operative
care, current scenario of surgeries in the Indian context, to name a few. The speakers
included guest faculty from PGIMER, Chandigarh, Fortis Hospital Mohali, Max Smart Super Speciality Hospital, New Delhi.
